The Los Angeles County EMS Agency and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine sponsor a 2 year EMS/Disaster Medicine Research Fellowship.
We seek candidates who will have completed an accredited emergency medicine residency training program and wish to pursue a career in EMS/Disaster Medicine with an emphasis on EMS research.
The fellowship is a unique collaboration between the Los Angeles County EMS Agency, which is one of the largest EMS Agency’s in the world, and the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Highly competitive compensation and additional funds for educational expenses, travel to scientific meetings, etc. are available as well.
Fellows will be provided an office, secretarial support, a computer, and access to the Department's medical library, copying machine, and facsimile equipment.
Patient Care Activities
Duties include evaluating and treating patients, teaching and supervising resident physicians and medical students, conducting teaching rounds and providing medical records documentation for services provided.
Administrative and Teaching Responsibilities
- Attendance at departmental faculty meetings
- Participation in EMS administration through attendance at Los Angeles EMS Agency Medical Advisory Council quarterly meetings and other relevant EMS meetings
- Teaching responsibilities will consist of the preparation of one “grand rounds” presentation, to be delivered to the Department of Emergency Medicine during normally scheduled conferences per year and limited teaching at the J. Michael Criley Paramedic Training Institute
- Fellows will be expected to meet all requirements set forth by the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine –PhysioControl Fellowship curriculum in EMS.
Research Responsibilities
