Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners are an integral part of the function of both our Adult and Pediatric EDs. In the Adult ED, NPs run our Medical Screening Examination area while supervised by an attending physician. They also work with residents to ensure that all patients are cared for in an expedient manner. In the Pediatric ED, NPs present cases directly to an attending physician, and help run the follow-up clinic. In addition to their clinical activities, our NPs have the opportunity to participate in research, conferences, and quality improvement projects.
