Social Activities

Each year the faculty, housestaff and their families attend a weekend department retreat. Held at Bruin Woods, a UCLA convention facility located in the mountains at beautiful Lake Arrowhead, the primary emphasis of the weekend is socializing and relaxation. Much of the weekend is spent in sports activities and one evening is dedicated to hosting a party with dancing and revelry. In addition to this department retreat, second year residents have a retreat each spring to facilitate their transition to the third year. The end of the year is highlighted by a department party where the faculty and graduating residents roast each other by tossing a few good-natured "parting shots" at one another.
